Cue to the fact competitive four-year colleges have made the ACT and SAT Reasoning Test or SAT a major factor in their admissions decisions and merit scholarship awards, it makes sense for students seeking admissions at competitive colleges to prepare for either test.

The SAT Reasoning Test or SAT and ACT aren't excellent predictors of success subsequent to college are dubious predictors of success in college. The SAT or ACT is an effective standard that can help in university or college admission decisions, given disparities in high school quality along with students' choice of courses. They are often decent tests ofcapabilities and knowledge.

Even though we make an effort to make it otherwise, ACT or SAT test prep is absolutely not particularly fun.

SAT or ACT prep should not replace any efficacious component of a secondary school curriculum or even wholesome extra-curricular activities.

Colleges overweight the ACT or SAT simply because other measures, such as GPA, moral character, and school competitiveness, are difficult to compare.

Overweighting the SAT or ACT means students with good grades and at good secondary schools will need to protect them by having solid SAT or ACT scores.

Overweighting the ACT or SAT offers a great opportunity to high school students who are lacking strong grades, or are in less highly-regarded schools.

The SAT or ACT isn't a measure of fixed know-how, capabilities, or simply "intelligence".

The ACT or SAT is normally coachable. Everyone improves with training. The only question is how much. There are many students who have raised their scores 200+ points after a few months of prep.
